Contemporary hearth cooking meets the flavours you grew up on โ smoked kebabs, wood-fired karahi, and a tasting menu built one course at a time. Twenty-eight seats, one open kitchen.
Ember & Oak opened with a single idea: that the oldest way of cooking still has the most to say โ and that it belongs alongside the flavours we grew up on. Every dish that leaves our kitchen passes over the hearth, a live, wood-fed fire tended from the first reservation to the last.
The dining room holds just twenty-eight seats so every course arrives exactly when it should. The entire menu is 100% Halal, prepared to the standards our guests expect โ no compromises, just bolder flavour.
Minced lamb, charred green chutney, mint raita
Tomato karahi reduction, ginger, garlic
Apricot glaze, sumac, charred onions
"We don't hide the fire. We cook in front of it, and we let it lead."
Chef Zara Khan trained in wood-fired kitchens across Lahore, Dubai and Istanbul before returning home to open Ember & Oak โ built on a simple mandate: fewer ingredients, more attention, and flavours guests already know, cooked a new way.
She works the pass most nights, expediting from the counter so every plate is seen before it leaves the kitchen.
The seekh kebab alone is worth the drive from Clifton. Everything tasted like it had a reason to be on the plate.
Watching the hearth work while you eat changes the whole evening. Best seat in the city is the counter.
Quiet, unhurried, confident โ and reassuring to know it's fully Halal without the menu feeling limited at all.
